CDL Class B Passenger Information
This license is required to operate any single vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, or such a vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds when carrying passengers. This includes buses, motorcoaches, city transit vehicles, and certain school or shuttle buses.
Job Opportunities with a Class B Passenger CDL:
City and regional bus driving, Charter and tour motorcoach operations, Airport and hotel shuttle transportation, School bus driving (with an additional “S” endorsement), Employment with public transit authorities and private passenger carriers.
Holding a Class B Passenger CDL allows individuals to pursue careers in public transportation and passenger services, offering stable employment opportunities and the ability to work in both local and regional travel.
CDL Class A Automation Information
A Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required to operate any combination of vehicles with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 pounds or more, provided the vehicle being towed weighs more than 10,000 pounds. This includes most tractor-trailers, truck and trailer combinations, livestock carriers, and flatbeds.
Job Opportunities with a Class A CDL:
Long-haul trucking (interstate routes), Regional and local freight delivery, Specialized hauling (tankers, flatbeds, refrigerated loads), Employment with construction, logistics, and transportation companies.
Holding a Class A CDL provides the widest range of driving opportunities in the commercial trucking industry and is often required for higher-paying positions.

Eligibility & Permits
Who can apply for a CDL?
Individuals who are at least 18 years old for intrastate driving or 21 years old for interstate driving. A valid driver’s license and DOT medical card are required.Do I need a learner’s permit before training?

Training & Testing
